With NAPRA’s latest Electricity New Connection (ENC) system you can now request for a new phase at MEPCO. All you have to do is submit an online application and deliver the physical application copy along with some important documents to any nearby MEPCO office. After verification a Demand Notice will be issued to you, upon paying your dues, the electricity connection will be installed at your place.

How to Apply For a MEPCO New Connection?

You can apply for a new electricity connection at MEPCO by following these simple steps:

  • Open the ENC website
  • Click the Apply button from the left side of the screen

Here’s the complete process of applying online for MEPCO new connection:

  • Enter the following subdivision information:
    1. Distribution company (in your case MEPCO)
    2. Your Subdivision (City Name)
    3. Category Type (Connection Type)
    4. Reference Number (Usually, your neighbor’s connection or existing ones)
  • Fill out all other details of the online application and upload the required documents with a minimum 300 KB file size.
  • Tap on I Agree under Terms and Conditions and Submit the application on the website
  • Save your Tracking ID to check your application’s progress later.
  • Print your online application, attach physical copies of the required documents, and submit them at the MEPCO office.
  • Wait for the Demand Notice and pay the charges at a designated bank.
  • Lastly, submit proof of payment at the respective MEPCO office.

What Documents Are Required to Apply for a New Electricity Connection Online?

While filling out the MEPCO New Connection Application Form, you have to attach these five documents to the ENC portal.

Property Document Copy

Your property document is the most important file needed to request a new power phase. It verifies your place ownership; you can also attach a sale deed or NOC certificate.

Attested Copy of Applicant’s ID Card:

Next, you need to upload a copy of your National Identity Card (CNIC) on the online portal. However, the copy should be attested by a gazetted officer.

Attested Copy of the Witness’s ID Card:

You also must add to attested copies of two reliable neighbors. This is to verify the legitimacy of your application.

Copy of Your Neighbor’s Electricity Bill

In the online new connection application, you will also need to attach your neighbor’s bill. It doesn’t need to be attested, as MEPCO will do the rest of the work and verify your location through the bill document.

Wiring Contractor’s Test Report:

Finally, attach the original wiring test report to your online application. You can easily get it by inviting a certified wiring contract at your place where a new phase is requested, who’ll check your wiring setup and create a report for you.

Categories for MEPCO New Connection

A category type must be selected while filling out your online new phase application. Here’s what all these category types mean according to NEPRA’s Customer Service Manual:

Category One (Up to 15kW / 400 volts):

This category shows that your meter can handle up to 15 kilowatts load. Once approved, it will take 30 days for installation at your place.

Category Two (15 to 70 kW / 400 volts)

The second category reveals that your transformer holds a 15 to 70-kilowatt load. This type of phase takes around 44 days for installation.

Category Three (70 to 500 kW / 400 volts)

The third category declares your transformer capacity between 70 to 500 kilowatts. Applicants under this category types can expect their new power connection installation in about 58 days.

Category Four (500 to 5000 kW / 33 kilovolts)

Category four is ideal for industrial premises. It shows that your transformer can load between 500 to 5000 kilowatts load can be installed within 106 days.

Category Five (All Loads above / 66 kilovolts and above)

The last category is for massive connections, which showcases your meter can run above 5000 kilowatts and handle about 66 kilovats load. Such a phase takes the longest for installation, ideally about 496 days.
